There’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the fire sprinkler industry! Our very own Jeff Jordan recently got the chance to be part of the fun as he travelled down to Florida to attend the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) Annual Seminar and Business & Leadership Conference. Jeff, who joined the USA Fire Protection team in September of 2017, had the opportunity to speak from the perspective of a burn survivor during a “Turning Tragedy into Advocacy” panel discussion. He spoke on behalf of Common Voices, which is an organization that advocates for fire safety legislation on a national, state, and local level to prevent further death and injury from fire. At just six weeks old, Jeff was severely burned in a house fire and is a true example of turning tragedy into advocacy.
Jeff was joined by USA Fire Protection’s CEO, Gregg Huennekens – the Chair of Common Voices and a member of the NFSA Board of Directors, at the event. Over the years, the two have worked tirelessly, advocating for the safety of their communities from the dangers of fire. Gregg has built a strong culture of pride in all aspects of our work protecting lives and property at USA Fire Protection, not just for those who use our services but for all Americans.
We had the chance to sit down with Jeff and hear more about his experience:
“Recently I got the opportunity to go to the NFSA Annual Seminar, on behalf of Common Voices and United States Alliance Fire Protection. It was my pleasure to help share my story as an advocate to show the benefits of fire sprinkler systems. It was great to see people come together and work towards making America fire safe. I joined USAFP in September in the hopes that I can do as much as I can to make sure people stay safe from fire and don’t have to go through the struggles of living with burn injuries. So many people work hard in this industry to make this country a safer place and I’m honored to do my part as well. USAFP, NFSA, and all their employees are doing an amazing job saving the lives of people every day.”
