USAFP celebrates one-year anniversary

June 12, 2012 - Before there was United States Alliance Fire Protection Inc. (USAFP), there were United States Fire Protection (USFP) and Alliance Fire Protection (AFP), two successful companies. This spring marked the one-year anniversary of the USFP and AFP merger, which took place last April.

"It's been an exciting year," says Chad Huennekens, president of USAFP. "It has been amazing to see the tremendous talent of two great companies come together to form USAFP. We're now able to provide a greater range of specialized expertise for our customers."

After USFP opened its doors in 1986, the company grew to become the largest fire protection contractor in the tri-state area. Similarly, soon after AFP began operations in 1995, it became the second-largest fire protection contractor in the tri-state area. Subsequently in April of 2000, both companies were purchased by the API group, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN.

Huennekens and USAFP Executive Vice President Fred Kroll say that after the merger, USAFP experienced an almost seamless transition.

"Each company had its own niche markets," says Kroll. "These markets include service, inspection, residential, high-rise, senior living and health care. We've brought these niche markets under one roof. USFP and AFP were important players in the market, and now together we're continuing a fine tradition of excellence."

Going forward USAFP will continue our dedication and commitment to customer service and satisfaction. The same values that both companies maintained will continue and grow stronger under our new banner of United States-Alliance Fire Protection.
