Corrosion Management

Understanding the science behind corrosion in fire protection systems is key to mitigating the risk and expense associated with fire sprinkler system leaks. Identifying oxygen as the primary driver of corrosion in sprinkler systems has allowed us to focus on solutions that work. Since 2008, USA Fire Protection has been involved in deploying corrosion control systems for wet, dry and preaction systems. We have successfully implemented many corrosion control plans for our clients in both existing and new construction projects. There are many factors that influence corrosion in a fire protection system such as: temperature, pressure and materials of construction. A short meeting with our trained corrosion control specialists will allow USAFP to quantify your facility’s level of risk and develop a corrosion control plan that addresses your specific situation.

HOW WE DO IT

A certified lab analyzes all samples. We present results in a format that allows the formation of an appropriate and individualized corrosion management strategy. Our services are geared toward the testing and treatment of corrosion caused by the interaction of oxygen and water inside metal pipe that may ultimately result in M.I.C. (Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion).
